The honesty and depth of the dialogue amongst the cast of characters kept me invested in their narrative, and Abbey’s journey brought a sense of clarity and self-realization so many people face when they are left to ask themselves what their life looks like after the passing of a loved one.
This book uniquely played well for readers who enjoy both non-fiction biographies and family drama storytelling. The heart and compassion readers develop for these characters, and the way the author invests in the idea of what family truly means, especially when readers discover Abbey’s relationship with her daughter Margaret and how this secret impacts their lives as well. With twists and turns readers won’t see coming and an emotional impact that many readers may be able to relate to, this is one story that will keep readers coming back time and time again.
