Interview Questions for Terrence Steven Lake About “God’s Child: Memoirs and Philosophy of Life”

HBR: Tell us a little bit about you and when you started writing.
I started writing this book in 1973 and had it published in 1975. The book explains the first 27 years of my life. There has been a lot of trials and tribulations that I have been through since the book has been published. I’m on my fourth marriage. I lived in Windsor,Ont.Ca. for 28 years. I moved back to the U.S.A. in 2010 to get married to my fourth wife. Life has been a roller coaster ride, but thanks to the internet and social media, I see that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. I could write several books about my life since the first book.

HBR: What inspired you to write this memoir?
I wanted to do a motion picture about my life growing up in a predominantly Polish community in Hamtramck, Michigan. We all got along together like a village. We were all in the same boat, lower middle class. I was working for Champion Spark Plug Co. at that time. Champion had been putting millions of dollars into White Race car drivers and they were looking for someone black who had a “master plan”.

HBR: This book perfectly illustrates the importance of appreciating different cultures and not letting race become an issue between one another. Is your hope that others will better understand the importance of that message after reading this?
There are too many people that don’t read books, and most of them are the ones who need to read my book. The unification of society is in my book, but a motion picture will be the blue print that will seal the deal.

HBR: There is also a wonderful nostalgic feeling when reading about the era you grew up in. Is there anything, in particular, you miss about your childhood in Hamtramck?
We are all friends,”Black,White,Yellow,Brown, and Red”. I didn’t worry about someone trying to take anything from me.

HBR: If you could have any one person read this book to learn from the message you are conveying, who would it be and why?
Elon Musk. He is trying to colonize Mars. He should make sure that the people he send should understand that we are all God’s children. Our goal should be to make a Heavenly environment wherever we go.

HBR: Who would you want to star in the film-version of this book if it were made into a motion picture?
Some young good-looking person.

HBR: Can you tell us more about how you feel we could make our planet a more heavenly, peaceful place?
Explain my book to the people on planet Earth.

HBR: Any plans for your next book?
Once I get this book started into a motion picture, I will do the sequel.
