Daybreak by author Gwendolyn Leavell is the story of a single female survivor of the mental and emotional anxiety of everyday life, in a world plagued by apprehension, trouble, and the uncertainty of the future. The book comprises actual life stories which disclose how the author confounded such vices, after anchoring her faith in the Lord.

Among them are the events of one bitterly cold day when Leavell was waiting for her car to warm up. She spotted a man crouched low beside her car while pulling on the door handle, with a sharp object in hand. She luckily managed to speed off unharmed, but not before a wild rage and desire to teach the man a lesson began to rise inside of her. After making a sharp U-turn, and embarking on the revenge mission, she found herself slamming on the brakes when a voice unexpectedly called out from her spirit – “Stop!” A similarly dreadful incident would later happen when an erratic young man who seemingly was high on drugs leaped and pounced at her throat while raising his weaponed hand ready to attack her right at the entrance of her workplace. The guard miraculously appeared just in the nick of time, to save her from a possibly horrible onslaught.

Gwendolyn Leavell is an author whose connection with God is practical and beneficial as confirmed by the divine interventions she experienced when faced with chilling situations. In her new book, readers are bound to understand the benefits of controlling their emotions and anxieties, the efficacy of prayer, as well as the wisdom in joining a support system. Her narratives are remarkably relatable and priceless, and will leave indelible imprints in a reader’s mind.

Leavell’s new book Daybreak is indisputably a perfect dedication to every single woman out there who may have fallen prey to their reactions to circumstances which may have been way beyond their control. It is a worthy read which will inspire healing from the emotional and mental trauma that may have stemmed from such experiences, as well as after ignoring the voice that speaks with stillness, from within.
