Green’s book focuses on who we are “in Christ” and was inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:17.
2 Corinthians 5:17 states: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold all things are new.” This verse helped the author see the Bible in an entirely new light and sent him on a mission to explore what it means to truly live “in Christ”. For anyone who is a believer, this book delivers on helping to build one’s faith through daily Scripture reflections.
I also loved the way it helps the reader deepen their understanding of not only the Scriptures but of themselves as a person. It felt as though, while reading this, that if you are a believer in God, you will see how he chose each and everyone one of us for our own divine purpose. At times, you may feel as if you are reading straight out of the Bible itself and others like you are reading a well-crafted and thought-out self-help book, but the two mesh together so seamlessly and work in tandem to better the audience’s lives, one affirmation at a time.
It encourages those reading this to build strong, daily spiritual habits that will help break them out of their shell and otherwise help them focus elsewhere rather than relying on feelings or daily circumstance to determine their identity. The biggest takeaway from this book is about what it means to be “united with Christ” and how that affects our daily lives. If you are someone who considers themselves a religious person and a believer, then this book is definitely for you. It also is encouraged to be used at Bible studies, which many readers seem to have done and thoroughly enjoyed.
