Those Little White Lines revolve around a young woman whose life is a rollercoaster. We are introduced to Bridget Easton, an ambitious young Australian lass who enjoys some good music, and fate ensures her love for music determines her destiny. Bridget has her life going on. She is doing relatively well, and fortunately or unfortunately, her lifestyle leads her to meet different kinds of eccentric people. One of the people Bridget meets is Jose, a rock and roller. Jose has all the qualities a typical girl in the 80’s would wish for. He is tall, has a wide chest, sings well, and knows how to express affection. Everything about him is sexy; his eyes, his voice, the words he uses, name it. Bridget gets into a relationship with Jose, not knowing her life is about to be different. The two enjoy the love they share – among other unorthodox things.

Bridget and Jose hang out often, and as a result, the adorable girl is introduced to a lifestyle of drug abuse. Can she help it? Jose is the lead vocalist of a popular American band, and as it was with most bands in the 80s, Jose and his peers are living life in the fast lane. The use of every kind of drug is the norm, and Bridget gets entangled in this lifestyle without knowing. The reader can decipher some things from the moment the two met. Through their first conversation and how their relationship progressed; Jose has a side of him that is not easy to comprehend. He is a smooth talker, all right. He is talented, and a go-getter, but the rock and roll scene in the 80’s brought out demons in Jose which only the reader, and maybe Bridget and those close to her could see. Their love is beautiful regardless of every hurdle.

As the story progresses, author Kaz Piper takes the reader on a tour of Australian cities.  The virtual trips to North America are also exciting to follow, as the author makes the reader feel as if they are present when all is happening. Bridget and Jose’s love story is filled with disasters, but that is what makes the story more entertaining. From the narrative, readers get to understand the impact rock and roll had on those that grew up in the 80’s, and 90’s, and how similar or different life is today. Apart from Bridget and Jose, other notable characters in the story include Liam, Madonna, and Jess.

Those Little White Lines is an enjoyable book which reads like a movie. Love, drugs, money, and sex, are the main themes in Those White Lines. As the story unfolds, the reader is left concerned, mesmerized, and impressed. Characters in Those Little White Lines go all out when it comes to being wild. There is no single character whose role is underwhelming, as the author made sure that each of them, whether major or minor, had something distinct they carried through the story. The art of writing flawlessly is displayed in this book, as the author captures the readers’ attention with details, spooky tales, juicy stories, and unknown revelations about the rock-n-roll lifestyle in the 80’s.
