Time Before Time is a compelling sci-fi novel written by Dan Dubose and Beau Dubose. Here, the authors introduce readers to Emerson Whitmore, an elite scientist whose unusual theories are strongly disputed by his mainstream scientist peers and nearly jeopardize his long-standing career. Whitmore holds a unique hypothesis that long before the existence of modern-day humankind, great and advanced civilizations had been developed and flourished for thousands of years before the catastrophic great cataclysm.

The professor consequently decides to build a time machine which could take him back in time to confirm his firm convictions. He goes ahead and hires John Chantry, a well-built man, who had served in the Special Services Division as a hand-to-hand combat and survival instructor for the All Service Command, and whose experience would come in handy during the mission. The journey held many exciting possibilities for Whitmore but also had equal measures of risk none of them had comprehended.

Time Before Time is a razor-sharp novel that cleverly doles out pieces of the time travelers’ backstories and information about the mission they are about to embark on, by tossing in curve balls and judiciously employing ample dialogue. This also helps break the tension as the story rollicks to an unanticipated conclusion. Lucid, as well as exhilarating, this majestic work unfolds into a cinematic and heady mix which boldly interweaves time travel, history, archeology, suspense, adventure, and thrill. The landscapes they transverse in space are vividly drawn and the extrapolated technologies infused in the narrative are well-explained and plausible.

Time Before Time by Dan Dubose and Beau Dubose makes for a scintillating and insightful read which takes readers on a journey to explore the unknown in the comfort of your armchair. The text offers an absorbing exploration of the Universe that might jiggle your digital knowledge but does so in a domestic style. I highly recommend this text to sci-fi enthusiasts.
